Last Friday and Saturday a team of hardy volunteers helped to set up and then to sell the various treasures and bric-a-brac that had been donated toward our Big Sale. An annual fundraiser, the sale this year was minus one item - clothing - a reduction that made the work of set up and sale significantly easier!
Over the course of Saturday morning close to 200 people came through the hall to gaze upon the wonders we had been gifted. About half of the items were sold during the sale, with the remaining half being distributed to charity shops so that the intention of fundraising for charities could be continued.
With the total raised on the day mixed with the totals donated via bank transfer, we have raised $2,400 toward our fundraising goal of $20,000 this year - which puts us much closer to the overall goal.
Thank you to all of the people who kindly donated their items, and a special thank you to all of those who gave their time and energy to set up, sell and to pack down. We couldn't have done it without you!
