Changes to our streaming of services

Live streaming of services began in a rush following the first lockdown of COVID-19 in 2020. It was an end that met a need at the time to continue to gather people and engage them in worship. As the years have passed, however, the Church as a whole has not carefully considered the end to which the means of livestreaming is directing us.

As a parish, we have maintained our livestreaming over the past five years as a point of engagement. We are aware, however, that the quality, consistency and expertise required to make it attractive is not always there. Recognising that these streams meet a pastoral need for some, especially former members, we find ourselves balancing that against the poor reflection the streams often give of our life and our worship.

Acknowledging these two realities, we have made the decision to cease public livestreaming of our services from Sunday, 27 April. We will continue to stream significant services. In place of the weekly livestream, it is our intention to launch a genuine online community, utilising the sermon from Sunday with a host and prayers specifically geared toward the online world. These services will go live on Wednesdays around 7 am and involve a host welcoming, reading the scriptures, a replay of the sermon from Sunday and then a chance to engage in prayer and reflection led by one of the team from the Parish.

We recognise that for some, this will be a sad end to a way you have maintained a connection and relationship with All Saints in particular. Due to a relationship with a local rest home to whom we stream our services, there is an option to receive a link to the 8 am service stream that goes to them. This is an 'unlisted' stream and so is not publicly available. If you would like to receive this link, please contact the church office.
